My Closet (or should I say closets)

Over at Jen's blog we were talking about closets. She talked about how hers was kind of small and how she would like to redo her floor plan so she could have more room.

This is one area I have been blessed! My 2 bedroom, 2 and a half bathroom home has a small pantry (sort of a closet) in the kitchen, a coat closet on the main floor, and a full size closet in the basement. Then you walk upstairs. We have a walk-in closet in the hall, with shelves and bars for storage. Our spare bedroom has a large closet along one wall. Now you get to the master bedroom. We have two closets in there. The smaller one (first picture) belongs to my husband and the large, lighted, beautiful one complete with organizers, shelves, poles at various heights, belongs to me and only me.

Great closet, Tanya! Good use of vertical space!

I come from a long line of messies that, when company would come over, would toss everything into grocery sacks and throw it in the nearest closet, and hope beyond hope the door stayed shut. Junk. Clothes. Toys. Stuffed inside.

So when I see a perfectly organized closet, it has the same, relaxing effect for me that fish in an aquarium have for most folks, lol.

Oh. That organization system is a thing of beauty. Truly it is.

We have a lot of storage in this house, too, and I love it. It's just our closet in Arkansas was much bigger.

Todd and I each have our own closets and mine is bigger, too. But they're not planned out very well. Just rods on each side with no shelving except for what's on top. I want shelves and cubbies and -- basically your closet!!

Thanks for sharing! I'm going to get a picture of my closet up next week and take the clean closet challenge that Mama P is going to do. Hopefully.

When we built the house we are in 16 years ago, we made sure the floorplan had LOTs of storage. Amazing how in those 16 years we've gone from not being able to fill it all up to now needing to purge and clean out. I never thought we'd fill all our kitchen cabinets, closets and storage room -but somehow, we did. (plus our attic)

If only my closet were a little, teeny weeny bit bigger, I might not have to iron every shirt that comes out of it.

Thanks for visiting my blog Tanya.

It was very brave of you to put pictures of your closet up for everyone to see. Of course your closets are well organized so they look nice. There would be no way I would let people see my closets

I love how organized it is!! I wish mine looked like that!

I am SO jealous. Your closets are so purdy, they shine like a beacon in Messyclosetville

We have 4 teeny-tiny closets in my house and NO basement. Which is why, I suppose, that everything seems to leak out every which way. *sigh*

Thanks,

My closet isn't always that neat. Usually I have a pile of clothes right in the front of it. Of course they were missing in the picture though. :)

One can never have too much closet space! We moved from a trailer with no storage and built a house. Our architect's wife made sure we had tons of closet space, and I love her for it.

Color me jealous. Oh what I would do to have shelves like that in my closet. When momey is more abundant, look out.
